There might not be a more likable personality in today's surf world than Mason Ho.
The endlessly talented, happy-go-lucky heir of one of surfing's most iconic families–the Hos–has that rare mixture of supernal skill and ever-sunny disposition that is impossible not to admire, all packaged in a 29-year-old body with a surf-anything attitude. And that final trait is not an exaggeration: Mason Ho will, quite literally, surf anything.
While we've already witnessed Ho's love of dodging icebergs and playing dangerously close to rock shelves, but his latest edit "Eel Boy" elevates that latter tendency to another level, with Ho dancing over nearly dry reef, dropping in on uncovered volcanic rock shelves and pulling into roaring shorebreak barrels on Oahu. Like so many of Ho's clips, this one features a broken surfboard and an ever-present smile on Ho's face.
All hail Mason Ho. May he never change.
