Is This Maverick’s Wipeout the Worst of the Year?

The WSL Big Wave Award Nominee's were recently announced, including the nominees for wipeout of the year. There is probably not an award that sums up big wave surfing more than wipeout of the year. Matt Becker at Mavericks makes his case for winning the prize.

After a wicked air drop, he is not able to ride away cleanly, eventually cartwheeling down the wave. He is joined by Marty Magnusson, who did not get nominated, but his addition makes for a more exciting wipeout.
