‘Gratitude’: One Surfer’s Life Path Towards Ecology and Sustainability

From record-breaking heat waves to unprecedented wildfire seasons, it’s becoming more evident each day that we are living in an ecological crisis. For ecologist Rut Sagrera, she’s alarmed but hasn’t lost hope. She argues that our species is capable of living more sustainable lives. In fact, it’s rather natural to live in symbiosis with the earth. As a surfer, gardener, and animal lover, she sees examples of collaboration between other living organisms every time she’s in the water, on the beach, or in her garden. If dolphins, fish, and algae can coexist all together, then we can too. She reflects on this and more in Gratitude, which is an introspective short film exploring what it means to live a life that exists in harmony with Mother Nature.

The final product is a no-frills look at some of the best surfers in the industry and is definitely worth a watch all the way through to the

There couldn’t be a cooler combination of creativity: surfer Russell Bierke and film director Andrew Kaineder. Australian native Bierke is known for his fearlessness on the water and being relentless when it comes to attacking some of the largest waves in the world. He doesn’t hold back in this new video, Vantage Points, ripping through massive bombs without thinking twice. To compliment Bierke’s spunky surf style, director and fellow Aussie Andrew Kaineder mixes hi-fi cinematography with
