Courtney Conlogue and Nikki Van Dijk Charging at J-Bay

This past weekend, the 2019 Corona Open was held in the infamous Jeffreys Bay, South Africa. While the competition was tight for many, the women’s heats were the ones to watch.

On Sunday, July 14th, Courtney Conlogue battled Nikki Van Dijk in Round Three, Heat 7. Conlogue gained a spot in the Quarterfinals after scoring a 5.83 on a buttery wave, her third of the heat.

The Corona Open, the fourth event out of eight total in the Women’s World Surf League series, began on July 9th and runs through the 22nd. With so much of the season already behind them, surfers wanting to win the title, re-qualify for the big events or become part of the Olympic conversation should get charging in South Africa right now.

Conlogue and Van Dijk are out there showing how it’s done.
