The results from Bells Beach are in, and it’s looking like were in for another heater of a season on the WSL Longboard Tour.
The tour kicked off down in Victoria, Australia at the legendary Bells Beach. If you haven’t heard, the waves down in Aus have been superb thanks to a series of cyclones in the mid pacific. As such, the swell at Bells provided optimal waist-to-chest-to-head high sets perfect for the cruisy style on which the riders were being judged.
This time around, it was the old tour familiars who showed out the best. In the semis, Ben Skinner, Kai Salas, Kelis Kaleopa’a, Taylor Jensen, Honolua Blomfield, Natsumi Taoka, and Soleil Errico were all present, many of whom have won world titles, all of whom have come close. The new blood on the circuit may need to crank up the heat in Surf City, USA for the Huntington classic in just a couple weeks.
