Travis Rice and Kai Lenny Snowboarding in the Valdez Mountains

It takes a whole lot of gumption for a surfer to leave their beautiful, warm home on Maui to explore the rugged mountains of Valdez with a snowboard. But that’s all that Mr. Kai Lenny is about. He lives to push his own limits and the limits of surfing to discover the edge of what is possible.

Kai’s most recent aspiration is to stomp a double backflip while riding on the face of the XXL wave Jaws back on Maui, but instead of waiting around for enough huge swell to make this happen, Kai jetted off to Alaska with Travis Rice to see if he could start the journey with snow underfoot rather than water.
