The third and final stage of the 2023 Natural Selection Tour was a doozy. Hosted in the beautiful foothills of the Chugach Mountain range in Valdez Alaska, the competitors were tasked with navigating some of the most technical, challenging, and complex features they’ve seen on the tour. Some riders entered the day with tons of experience riding in Alaska, and for some it was their first time scoring tracks in the last frontier which is known to have some of snowboarding’s most hallowed terrain. A huge congrats to the men’s and women’s finalists Travis Rice, Mikkel Bang, Elena Hight and Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, each of these talented boarders had to lay everything out on the line to make it to the top of the podium in Valdez. But GOATs will do GOAT things, and as such, Jackson’s own Travis Rice took home the hardware in the men’s division, and the aussie Zoi Sadowski-Synnott won the women’s. All in all, it was an extremely epic weekend up in Valdez, and all the competitors have a tone to be stoked on. Can’t wait to see how next year’s competition will end up.
