Jake Blauvelt’s New Short Documents Snowboarding and Fatherhood

Born and raised in the Green Mountains of Vermont, Jake Blauvelt's snowboarding career began on the East Coast. But by 16 he was already pushing west in pursuit of big mountain lines and powder fields that could only be found far from home. His career thrived over the years as it took him from country to country chasing snow and new backcountry terrain, but through it all he never lost his love for Vermont.

Today he is raising a young family in the same state he grew up in, and in his new video Full Circle, Jake reflects on how he divides his time between fatherhood and being a professional snowboarder who’s constantly on the road. It’s a fascinating look into the demands of the sport, not to mention the 10 minutes of mouthwatering riding from some of the most epic backcountry spots around the world with close friends like Kazu Kokubo, Austen Sweetin, Austin Smith and Beau Bishop.
