Grassroots Powdersurfing's "The Powsurfing Chronicles" follows its founder Jeremy Jensen on his never-ending search for fresh snow.
In Episode 4: Big Waves, Jensen explains how he approaches big, high-consequence lines and manages risk while riding without bindings. He scouts technical, treed terrain in the Northern Wasatch range, and drops into Utah's iconic steep and deep powder.
Riding bindingless, though, is not without some serious tomahawking. Unlike snowboarding strapped in, powsurfing doesn't allow you engage edges and sideslip over something sketchy. It also makes self-arrest more challenging, if not damn near impossible.
