Degrees North: Xavier and Ralph Backstrom’s Expedition to Northern AK

Xavier de le Rue's latest film, Degrees North, follows his snowboard mountaineering expeditions to the 79th parallel north. Hint: the North Pole is at the 90th, so the locations in this two-year-long project are pretty far up there.

Timeline Missions released the film's first teaser last spring, featuring skier Sam Anthamatten accessing huge, techny lines in Norway via a drone. Now the second trailer clues us into the challenges of preparing for a hike-to-ride expedition in northern Alaska.
