7 Female Snowboarders, 7 Locations, 1 Film you Can’t Miss

Raise those praise hands, it’s finally September, and that means two things: It’s no longer socially unacceptable to pumpkin-spice your drinks, and it’s the month a couple of rad films are premiering. We’re especially looking forward to Runway Films’ "Full Moon." (Oh, and  Tight Loose, but we've talked about that plenty.)

The trailer for "Full Moon" came out a couple days ago, and our bellies are now on fire. Seven female snowboarding legends — Annie Boulanger, Robin Van Gyn, Marie France Roy, Helen Schettini, Leanne Pelosi, Hana Beaman and Jamie Anderson — have dedicated the past two years to the project, traveling everywhere from Canada and Alaska to Italy to pay tribute to their influencers and push the progression of women’s riding.

The Full Moon crew make clear their film’s not a history of women’s snowboarding. What it is, is a collection of stories about who the riders were inspired by back in the day that help preserve the female snowboarding heritage. The crew’s goals? To empower people to follow their passion for the outdoors.

I’ll leave you with some wise words by Pelosi, one of the most well-rounded professional snowboarders worldwide: “We are all connected at an arm’s reach, and there is a reason why we should see where we came from and on to where we are headed. It’s vital to keep the true story of snowboarding alive through visuals like interviews and real video documentation.”
