13-year-old Kokomo Murase Lands Women’s First Double Cork 1260

Before competition even began at X Games Norway on Saturday, 13-year-old Kokomo Murase had made history, by being the youngest competitor the Big Air competition has ever seen.

the 13-year-old took the competition by storm, laying down one consistent run after another. Already the leader by her final run of the day, she decided to raise the amplitude by stomping a backside double cork 1260, a feat that has never been achieved in a women’s snowboarding final. It not only wrote her name in the X Games history books but also sent her home with the gold.
