Cat Track Pile-up Nightmare

This is Red Bull Homerun's 2016 epic downhill race in Åre, Sweden. Video posted to Facebook by Johan Henriksson.

For six years straight Red Bull Homerun has showed Åre, Sweden what it means to go fast or go home. This year was no exception. In an awesome video captured by participant Johan Henriksson, everyone's worst cat-track nightmare came true. It only took 1 rider in the bottle neck to make this Chinese downhill blow up, littering the run with human body/ski land mines, sprawled and awaiting unsuspecting slower racers.

Homerun is simple: Put on a fancy outfit, sprint for your skis or your snowboard, race from the top of the mountain to an epic after-ski rager at the base. There are only 5 winners: fastest male and female skier, fastest male and female snowboarders, and the best dressed of the rest.

Although the pile-up claimed many, there were a few involved who miraculously managed to pull through and find victory. Alexander Sehlberg finished 6th out of 500, and snowboarder Joel Bengs bombed the hill to reach the after-ski party 4th.
