Watch Angel and Elyse’s Full AK Segment from ‘Winterland’

Alaskan skiing is generally considered some of the best on Earth, and for good reason. The lines are steep and clean, lending themselves perfectly to the type of aggressive big mountain skiing and riding that Teton Gravity Research is known for. TGR has been filming in Alaska for decades, but we always try to partner with local guides and pilots who know the zones and snowpack like the back of their hands. This year, we worked with Triple Point Expeditions, a heli-op located in Palmer, Alaska, within striking distance of the lofty summits of the Chugach, Talkeetna, and Alaska Ranges. Their experienced pilots and guides shepherded Angel Collinson, Elyse Saugstad, Nick McNutt, and Griffin Post to the top of lines that would give even the most seasoned big mountain skier some butterflies.

Angel and Elyse are no strangers to intimidating lines, though. As Elyse says, "My favorite place in the world to ski is Alaska. It terrifies me the most, it's the most beautiful, and I think it always has been and always will be."

Colter Hinchliffe: Finding New Ways To Ski Classic Zones

Colorado-based Colter Hinchliffe is never one to ignore big storm totals. After all, he has based his career on chasing large numbers on maps, whether it’s big peaks or even bigger snowfall. This season, Colter didn’t have to go too far, linking up with his partner in crime Tim Durtschi and longtime friend Todd Ligare to explore the nooks and crannies around Jackson Hole. He spent the better part of February – which happened to be the deepest ever on record in the Tetons – base camped in

Video: Skiing The Great Wall of China with Candide

At this point, it seems like Candide has skied on every conceivable surface: Snow, sand, water, air (debatably), and now super old Chinese bricks. It's kind of like urban skiing, except there's no snow. Talk about high-consequence... RELATED: Answered - How Did Candide Ski on that Wave? From a scientific perspective, it's hard to say if one can ski on plasma (the only state of matter we haven't seen Candide rip), but if anyone could do it, it would have to be the Flying Frenchman.
