Video: Richard Permin+FPV Drones is a Lethal Combo

Back in the day, most ski movies were shot using large, clunky cameras mounted to tripods or helicopters. The cameras were expensive, finicky, and too heavy and fragile to do much skiing with. As camera technology has evolved, however, new shots and techniques have become viable. Smaller, more durable cameras have led to the advent of head-cams, and better gimbals have allowed for cinema-quality follow-cams.

What's the next evolution in ski cinematography? Well, it's hard to say with any certainty, but we've been hearing a lot about something called "FPV" or first-person view. Essentially, a drone pilot wears goggles which enable him/her to see exactly what their drone is "seeing" in real time, allowing them to get dynamic shots with unprecedented precision and speed.
