This 99.5-Year-Old Grandpa Still Shreds Wasatch Pow

Just six months shy of his 100th birthday, George Jedenoff has tacked another year onto his 57th consecutive season skiing the Utah Wasatch. While his pace may have slowed down a bit over the years, the man still has form and undoubtedly style. (Just check out that parka and boot combo.)

The fact that Jedenoff is still on the slopes is amazing enough. What's even more inspiring is that he still shreds pow. Simply put: powder makes him happy.

As an 81 year old active member of the National Ski Patrol just completing my 42nd year of volunteer service, George’s story is an inspiration to all of us who grew up in snow country, and aspire to stay on our boards as long as our body is as willing as our mind is!

Sometimes it comes in the form of a photograph, a chance encounter on a chairlift, or a glimpse at a mountain never seen before. When combined with motivation, the spark of inspiration becomes a dream, and when pursued gives our lives a new purpose. For 25 years TGR has focused on turning into reality, from exploring powder stashes in our backyard playground to first descents on unnamed peaks, the ethos of “live the dream” has defined our adventures. After a few months of severely limited skiing opportunities, it's no surprise that professional American freeskiers descended en masse on Mt. Hood's newly-reopened terrain park during July. The star-studded list of attendees included (but was not limited to) Torin Yater-Wallace, Quinn Wolferman, Tom Wallisch, Colby Stevenson, Birk Irving, Trevor Kennison, Cody Wilder Ray, and Cody LaPlante.
