TGR Ski/Snowboard Training Camp #4: Foam Roller Hamstring Hell

Hey skiers & snowboarders! Crystal Wright here from Wright Training here in Jackson Hole. This is the fourth installment of our 9-part TGR Ski & Snowboard Training Camp, which will get in you killer shape to crush the slopes this winter with minimal equipment and gym experience. Today we'll be focusing on the Foam Roller Hamstring Hell circuit, which utilizes the foam roller many of you might have at home to really whip your hammies into shape for the upcoming season.

Put the arch of your foot on the top of the foam roller.

Don't move the foam roller around during the exercise.

Do about 15 with your first leg and your head down against the ground.

Then switch onto all fours and continue to the Donkey Kick with the same leg.

Keep your core tight and your hips square while you kicked your bent knee back and up.

Make sure you keep your back straight and flat as well; don't arch it.

Do 25 donkey kicks before switching sides and starting all over again. Do two complete rounds of the circuit.

July Skiing Happened in Vermont and it’s Hilarious

The Craftsbury Outdoor Center has just accomplished an incredible feat: they made Vermont snowfall last until July. That’s insane, especially when you consider that Vermont has been facing a heat wave this week with humid, 90-degree weather. The cross-country ski area is experimenting for the first time with snow storage in a project they’re calling “snow farming.” They’ve teamed up with geologists from the University of Vermont to see if they can preserve snow over the summer season. Do you ever wake up to your legs tingling from withdrawals because of the lack of stimulation they're used to in the wintertime? Do you sometimes find yourself obsessing over that one line you never did four months ago? Or find yourself incessantly thinking about how you'd rather have a nose on the verge of frostbite than be sweaty as hell in the humid summer air?  Well, you might just be a snow addict. Some people are addicted to sugar, others to caffeine and working way too much. But
