Welcome to Shelter, a new film by Picture Organic and Almo Film. Five athletes and friends spent two months traveling from backcountry shelter to backcountry shelter in search of a common goal: the opportunity to ride some of the most beautiful peaks in the world.
There is a deeper level to this movie, however, as the athletes also explore the effects of climate change high in the Swiss and French Alps and how they can attempt to mitigate their impacts on such a space while still pursuing their passions. One of the athletes, Leo Taillefer, said that the whole goal of the project was to “travel around our home spot in the Alps and try to minimize our CO2 emissions and find a way to stay as neutral as possible in a changing nature.”
