Michael “Bird” Shaffer Wants You to Lose the Phone and Plug Into the Mountains

Michael “Bird” Shaffer has been around skiing scary lines and flying out the bottom longer that most. Whether it's big scary lines in Chamonix, or technical objectives in his home mountains around Washington, his skiing and flying may be constantly evolving, but one thing he knows is to always stay true to the spirit of the mountains. Just a few short years ago, Kuch was working construction and living the ski bum life up in BC. After being discovered as a master of the planks, Kuch skyrocketed his way to being one of the best freeskiers in the game. Whether he's dropping pillows or hucking threes off of cliffs, there's no shortage of style from Kuch. This short film from Arc'teryx takes

Now on TGRTv: Denizens of The Steep - Skiing and Environmental Stewardship

As winter backcountry users, we’re already pretty concerned about our environment, because keeping it healthy is integral to keeping our playgrounds around for as long as possible. While we might be largely focused on issues like climate change, there’s a lot more to environmental stewardship than we might think. One of those things - one that’s particularly important in our local playground of the Tetons - is protecting the area’s bighorn sheep population. Denizens of the Steep explores the
