If anyone makes ripping groomers look undeniably steezy, it's Candide Thovex. No stranger to getting creative with his shots, even a low tide in-bounds day provides an ample playground for Thovex. The French skier finds features in even the smallest lips and most tracked out moguls that would make any bystander's jaw drop. We're still anxiously awaiting Candide's next big project but for now this little bit of skiing has provided us with some excellent resort ripping inspiration. Tragically this weekend, a snowboarder died in a tree well inbounds at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. While many of us might love skiing and riding in the trees (especially during dangerous avalanche conditions, when this can be a safer option), tree wells pose a real danger. A tree well is the area of deep, unconsolidated snow around the base of a tree that can “swallow” a rider if they come too close to the tree trunk.
