Kai Jones is an anomaly. At only 16 years old, he is simultaneously one of the youngest and best freeride skiers in North America. In the production of TGR’s latest film Magic Hour, the TGR crew was faced with a harsh reality: an unseasonably poor snowpack in Jackson and injuries among TGR athletes including Tim Durtschi's crash at Kings and Queens that took him out for a few weeks. Despite the lack of snow and his usual riding partners, Kai performed one of his best seasons to date and was nominated for Standout Male Rider of the Year by iF3 for his segments in Magic Hour.
Although Kai is one of the youngest members of the TGR family, he’s been a constant figure in the backdrop of our film’s productions for many years. He’s been traveling to TGR film shoots with the crew in far-flung destinations like Alaska since he was seven years old, long before he starred in any films. Check out the behind the scenes of Kai and other riders from our team during the shooting of TGR’s latest film, Magic Hour.
