Freeride World Tour Fieberbrunn Results and Highlights

The sun poked out just long enough for the next stop of the Freeride World Tour to go off with a bang on Fieberbrunn, Austria’s famous Wildseeloder face. Powder and sunshine make for great competition conditions, and the riders didn’t hesitate to throw down. Check out the highlights above and below.

Next weekend marks the fourth stop of the FWT in Andorra and the last chance for riders to qualify for the finals in Verbier.

Snowboard Men:

Victor De le Rue again proved that he has what it takes, standing atop the men’s snowboard podium after a heater of a run littered with tricks in exposed spots. Davey Baird took second, narrowly beating out fellow American Sammy Luebke.

Ski Men:

For the third time this year, Markus Eder has stood atop the men’s ski podium, cementing his hold on the category with effortless skiing in insanely gnarly terrain. Rookie Andrew Pollard finally found his stride to take second, and Leo Slemett fought hard to take third place.

Ski Women:

FWT wild card and former competitive mogul skier Hedvig Wessel scored high with a huge backflip to take the win, beating out some incredibly aggressive skiing from rookie Jackie Pollard and Elisabeth Gerritzen.

Snowboard Women:

Current champion Marion Haerty proved her dominance once again with a resounding win, riding fast and smooth through exposed terrain. Anna Orlova took second, and Erika Vikander took third, after struggling in the first two events of the season.

The fight for the overall victory of the World Tour is still in full swing, but after the third event on Saturday morning the first favorites are already emerging. Markus Eder already secured his second victory in this year's Tour and remains clearly first in the overall standings with 7200 points. Second place went to defending champion Kristofer Turdell , who finished fourth in Fieberbrunn and collected 4980 points. Third is Craig Murray with 4705 points. Arianna Tricomi continues to lead the women's competition with 6155 points, ahead of Jacqueline Pollard with 5830 points and Elisabeth Gerritzen with 5760 points.
