Sometimes you accidentally go so big you just gotta tuck for double. Last week, Japanese mogul skier Daichi Hara engaged his rocket boosters during the FIS World Championships in Utah, absolutely sending the second ramp into an unplanned double backie. Of course, he didn’t land it – I mean stomping that big into a stack of moguls would take superhuman strength – but the resulting explosion is worth a watch. We’re glad Hara is ok. Russian President Vladimir Putin has been known to enjoy his time in the mountains, so of course he hit the slopes with Belarussian President Alexandar Lukashenko in Sochi for a day of meetings. Without going too much into it, it’s clear the guy rips – I mean look at the tuck at 1:36. RELATED: Russian Town Invaded by Polar Bears
Veronica Paulsen is the epitome of tenacity. Despite backslapping her massive backflip into Corbet’s, Paulsen got up, dusted her self off, and went back up the mountain. Unfazed she proceeded to hit it again. She was so close to getting it, but just couldn’t quite stomp it the second time around. Hopefully next year she gets it!
