Video: Hiker Falls 50 Feet Over Oahu Waterfall

Heather Friesen, a 26-year-old beach volleyball player from Chicago, is lucky to be alive after taking a 50-foot fall over a Oahu waterfall. She was hiking on the Ka’au Crater Trail with friends in 2016 when she slipped while standing at the lip of one of the trail's many waterfalls. The fall resulted in a collapsed lung, ten broken ribs and a fractured scapula.

It was a long recovery, but Heather is fully back in action. We're stoked to see her make a full recovery, and see this as a great learning opportunity. Please be careful while walking/climbing/skiing/etc. over exposure, especially with uncertain footing.
