Video: Big Air Comp Coming to Atlanta’s SunTrust Park

It's a rare day when snow is on the ground in Atlanta, Georgia. The city's annual average snowfall is less than three inches, but we have it on good authority that an 800-ton dump of the cold white stuff will descend on Hotlanta from December 20th-22nd. Specifically, the snow will be located on a 15-story ramp placed inside SunTrust Park, home of the Braves. Some of the world's best skiers and snowboarders will be descending on the city and throwing down their finest tricks.

"The Visa Big Air will be the first event of its kind to come to Atlanta. Event organizers expect to provide a taste of mountains and Olympic winter competition to 20,000 fans for each of the two days of competition. U.S. Freeski Olympians Julia Krass and Maggie Voisin, as well as two-time Olympic medalist Nick Goepper are set to compete. In addition, Olympic gold medalists Red Gerard, Jamie Anderson as well as the 2018-19 FIS Snowboard Overall Crystal Globe Winner Chris Corning will represent the U.S. Snowboard Team," according to a press release from the US Ski and Snowboard Team.

Tickets to the event are available here.

Bear Goes for a Morning Swim in Lake Tahoe

At first glance, this dark blob swimming around in Lake Tahoe looks like a dog. Think again: it’s a black bear, even though it has excellent dog-paddling form. Turns out Smokey went for a little morning dip before the lake got too busy. You can’t really blame him, the lake is so beautiful one can’t help but jump in.
