VIDEO: Teton Pass Avalanche A Sign Of Current Conditions

Editor's Note: TGR understands the inherent risks with skiing and snowboarding and urges anyone going out to have the proper knowledge, equipment, a partner, and a plan. For more information on how to stay safe while enjoying winter sports, check out TGR’s annual Safety Week series.

Update: The Wyoming Department of Transportation is attempting to reopen Teton Pass after an avalanche covered and closed Highway 22. The Wyoming Highway Patrol probed the slide and did not find anyone in the debris. All skiers and snowmobilers are being evacuated from the area.

With great snow, comes great responsibility. While we at TGR are stoked on all the recent snowfall we've seen from the West Coast to the Rockies, we understand it comes with increased risk, both inbounds and out. We encourage everyone to check avalanche.org and their local forecast centers before heading out into the mountains.
