On December 14th, 2019, a large moose was seen “swimming in snow” as he made his way across the groomed run at Breckenridge Ski Resort. Moose are very large and dangerous animals. If you see one, make sure to keep your distance!
On December 30th, a teen snowboarder fell 500 ft. while attempting to summit Mt. Hood in Oregon. The teen lost his footing on the Pearly Gates section of the mountain and fell down to an area called Devil’s Kitchen. As the Australian bushfires continue to rage on, Selwyn Snow Resort, a beloved ski resort in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, was destroyed over the weekend. According to ABC News, all of the resort’s buildings were burned, but thankfully there were no casualties. In addition to the resort, 780,000 acres have been burned.
