‘Live Like Roner’ Event To Honor Ski Base Jumper This August

This summer, on August 2nd, a fundraising event - “A Night To Live Like Roner” - will be held at Sea Legs on the Beach at Bolsa Chica State Park near Huntington Beach, California to celebrate the life of TGR athlete and all around legend Erik Roner. Join celebrity athletes for daytime entertainment – such as a sky diving exhibition, stand-up paddle boarding, carnival games, a rail jam, live music, and more – as well as an evening activities inspired by the Nitro Circus.

The event is supported by the non-profit Athlete Recovery Fund. For information about tickets, visit livelikeroner.com. Fundraising efforts will include auctions for VIP seats near the stage with the stars of the Nitro Circus as well as other action sports athletes. The funds raised will go to Erik’s family as well as to endow the Live Like Roner Foundation, whose goal is to assist the families of action sports athletes in times of need.

Roner was a prolific figure in the world of action sports, known for his first descent ski BASE jumps. You can catch him in 12 different TGR films. He was also one of the Nitro Circus cast members, performing stunts for live arena and television audiences. Two years ago he and three other skydivers were the opening act to a charity golf tournament. When coming in for his landing, Roner hit a tree at high speed and died on impact, leaving behind his wife and two children. The action sports community was shook.

"I worked with him on multiple different levels–as a skier, a ski BASE jumper, an executive producer, a host," TGR co-founder Todd Jones said. "He was brilliant human being. Super nice, super charismatic, could blend into any scene around the world, and a total badass and ripper. It’ll be devastating, and he’ll be missed so hard by so many people."

TGR is excited that Roner’s legacy and family are being honored and we hope that anyone in the area can make it to this rad event.
