Calgary Wins Bid To Host 2020 X-Games

Calgary, Canada will be the next host of the Winter X Games, as the series look to expand past Aspen. According to the Calgary Herald, the city secured exclusive rights as an X Games venue from 2020 through 2022 and, in conjunction with province, will invest $13.5 million to support the event. That money will go towards infrastructure, including transforming the Stampede Grandstand into a 14-story jump for skiers and boarders.

Outside of Aspen, X Games has traveled internationally to places like Shanghai, Oslo, and Sydney. The first Calgary event is planned for late February 2020.
