Jumping over road bikers is hot right now. Mountain bikers have been jumping over the Tour De France for years now, and will likely continue to do so until one of them biffs it and smokes a racer. Representing the world of skiing, Candide did it in One of Those Days 3 — firmly establishing the road-biker-gap as canon.

This particular road gap was over the Tour of Utah, an annual multi-day road race which takes place (surprise) in Utah. As far as we're aware, this was the first time it has been gapped, but almost certainly won't be the last.
