Video: Crashing on a World Record MTB Jump Attempt

German freeride mountain biker Johannes Fischbach wants to set a new kind of world record: the longest distance jumped on his bike. In order to do so, he takes his bike to the top of a 140-meter ski jump…and launches himself off the bottom. Needless to say, it takes a few tries to get the feel of flying off something not designed for bikes, and that includes one of the gnarliest crashes we’ve ever seen. Somehow, despite shearing his seat off his bike and sliding for hundreds of feet, Fischbach walks away from this one.
