Trail Slayer Aaron Gwin Snags #1 in Lourdes Downhill, Yet Again

The Lourdes UCI MTB downhill course this year was as gnarly as ever. No mud, no guts, no glory for these riders. What better a way to review the track the athletes bombed down than via Claudio Caluori's GoPro mounts and hilarious course commentary?

Check out the video above to see the track, then the stats below to see who took home the gold.

Once again, Aaron Gwin was the man to beat as he stole #1 with a final run time of 2:58:68 and a speed of 52 mph. USA is back on top, beating the world cup favorite Bruni Loic. But not by much. Bruni, who having ridden like a mad man possessed by the need to go over two seconds quicker by split four, pushed it a little too far into the danger zone towards the end of the track and crashed, putting him in 14th place. Despite this setback, however, the Frenchman is undoubtedly going to be a major threat to Gwin this season. Check out Gwin's and Loic's final runs on the RedBull UCI MTB page.
