The Final Race of the 2017 UCI DH World Cup Is this Weekend

One of the best seasons of World Cup DH racing will come to a close this weekend in Val di Sole, Italy. After a dramatic race weekend in a rain-soaked Mont Saint-Anne, the rankings were once again shaken up by Aaron Gwin, who managed to put together one of the best runs the DH world has ever seen. The final race of the year now takes riders to an insanely steep Italian track that is notorious for being a root and rock infested nightmare, nicknamed the Black Snake.

This weekend will decide who will take home the overall championship, with Greg Minaar, Troy Brosnan, and Aaron Gwin in close contention on the men’s side. Myriam Nicole holds on to a substantial lead over Tracey Hannah and Tahnee Seagrave on the women’s side, but as we have seen all season, anything can happen on these tracks.

Of course, Claudio Caluori had to give the track a go, and chases Ed Masters to the best of his abilities. Just to show how gnarly it is, even Claudio can barely make it down in one piece.
