Shredding The Bike Park On A Fully Rigid Klunker

While Washington-based Transition Bikes might be making headlines for their new award-winning enduro bike, the company's throwback to the original mountain bike, the Klunker, is in the news instead today.

With a burly steel frame, huge BMX bars, no suspension, and only a coaster foot brake to slow you down, the Klunker harkens back to the first "mountain bikes" that guys like Gary Fisher used to scream down fireroads without helmets in Big Sur back in the '70s. But what's old is new again, and the Howru Klunk Crew or Carl Hulick, Tucker Hopkins, and Paul Jackson took their Klunkers to opening day at Snow Summit Bike Park and rallied downhill trails without a single modern, trendy piece of bike technology. Amen!
