Fact: Rock rolls are gnarly. They’re even gnarlier when you’re talking about the ones hidden away in the woods of coastal British Columbia, where Remy Metailler’s is one a god-given quest to find the craziest possible thing to ride. We love watching the wild Frenchie tackle insanely steep and consequential lines on his mountain bike, but his latest video truly pushed the limit of his riding. Metailler is a very calculated rider, making crazy sh** look easy because he truly knows what he’s doing. That’s why it’s no surprise that there’s even things too gnarly for him – the French are only human too, after all.
Metailler teams up with North Shore local and mtb legend Steve Vanderhoek to session some North Shore classics. It’s a game of skill and guts, and there’s a limit to even those from both of the riders. Listen in and watch as the two shredders talk about what it takes to make this kind of riding work – including suspension and bike setup, body position, and getting mentally ready for letting go of the brakes and having gravity take over.
