In what most would consider a storybook ending to the slopestyle mountain bike season, Emil Johansson won Crankworx’s highlight event – RedBull Joyride. Johansson has proven himself as perhaps the biggest force on the slopestyle scene this season after quite the comeback story. The young Swede started turning heads back in 2017 with a second-place at Joyride. The next year, he virtually disappeared from competitions after being diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder that prevented him from training and riding. After overcoming the disease, he returned to competition with a vengeance. At the end of the day, it paid off win the biggest win of his life.
