Emil Johansson Opens Up About Injury and Recovery

Emil Johansson has been on a bit of a rollercoaster in the last two years. In 2018, the Swede was forced to take a break from riding to deal with back injuries and issues with his immune system. The time away, however, did little to dampen his enthusiasm for riding. This March he was back in Rotorua for the McGazza Slopestyle.

In Episode 1 of ‘Maxxis Rubber Side Down’ Johansson opens up about his return and the challenges he's faced along the way. His journey hasn’t been easy in the slightest; injuries are a constant norm within the sport of slopestyle.
