Video: Scary Near-Miss in the Surf Lineup

Sometimes, you're just in the zone. You caught a sick wave, you're cruising along, that cutie on the beach is totally watching, the boys are all howling—time to rip a big cutback, right? Next thing you know, you're swimming for your life, your board has acquired a large, oval shaped dent, and some dude is thrashing around and yelling about suing you.

Upon immediately taking stock, though, things seem to be looking up. Your body feels uninjured, your board seems salvageable, and the dude is thrashing and yelling far too energetically to be seriously injured. Just as you shake your head and decide to paddle back out to catch the rest of the set, you see a gleam out of the corner of your eye. What could it be? As you look closer, all becomes clear: It's a camera lens, attached to a camera around which a group of people are gathering. They watch, gasp, laugh, and suddenly you know the awful truth: You are about to become the subject of a viral video, watched and ridiculed around the world. Tough luck, dude.
