The Rip Curl Women Take on the North Shore

Editor's Note: In honor of International Women's Day, we here at Teton Gravity Research are going through the archives to find some of our favorite content that focuses on the women who make our industry so special. The new Rip Curl women's team is a force to be reckoned with, and we loved seeing them get after it on the North Shore.

In the early days of surfing, it was rare to see groups of women out in the lineup. Many female surfers grew accustomed to being a lone wolf in intimidating surf spots like Oahu’s North Shore. Thankfully things have changed drastically. Today, if you head out to breaks like From Off The Wall or Waimea Shore, you just might see a group like the Rip Curl Women charging in the water. In the latest episode of Rip Curl’s series Take on Hawaii, the team gets candid about what it means to be women in the water and how to keep breaking boundaries for future generations.
