Has Surfing Descended into Perpetual Chaos?

So many people have been jumping on the surfing wave recently, and at first glance this seems like it would be a positive thing for the sport, but after some examination it seems that this oversaturation of new surfers is causing a lot of chaos in the water. Well, long time SoCal filmographer Brad Jacobson is here to help. In this short video, Brad outlines the shortlist of surfing rules and etiquette. From paddling out to the break, to paddling into waves, to navigating the local scene Brad has us covered with how to keep ourselves and others happy, safe and stoked in the water. Bottom line is that surfing is about safety and respect, and it can get real testy in the water if people act out of line from these values so if you’re thinking about grabbing a wavestorm and paddling out for your first time, maybe check out this video first.

The surf zone is the nearshore zone where wave water meets the beach. The water in the surf zone is shallow, often between 5 and 10 m (16 and 33 ft) deep, which generates unstable waves. The sport is quite dangerous. | www.concretesugarland.com

Surfing looks pretty crazy at the best of times.  With a lot of new people learning, it would probably be best to extra safe and careful.  Jacksonville Roofing
