‘Gratitude’: One Surfer’s Life Path Towards Ecology and Sustainability
Popular Stories
From record-breaking heat waves to unprecedented wildfire seasons, it’s becoming more evident each day that we are living in an ecological crisis. For ecologist Rut Sagrera, she’s alarmed but hasn’t lost hope. She argues that our species is capable of living more sustainable lives. In fact, it’s rather natural to live in symbiosis with the earth. As a surfer, gardener, and animal lover, she sees examples of collaboration between other living organisms every time she’s in the water, on the beach, or in her garden. If dolphins, fish, and algae can coexist all together, then we can too. She reflects on this and more in Gratitude, which is an introspective short film exploring what it means to live a life that exists in harmony with Mother Nature.
