World’s First 2160 landed on a Snowboard

Pro snowboarder Ian Matteoli lands the world's first 2160 on a snowboard at prime park sessions at Stubai, Austria.

6 spins, because of course, you were counting. Ian Matteoli just obliterated the record for spinning really fast on a snowboard, adding up to an outrageous 2160 degrees of rotation. And the landing was as clean as they come, too. Watch his rotations get faster when he grabs the tail of his board-- straight out of the figure skating handbook! Remember when 1080s were on the cutting edge? Me neither.

While some of the comments on this one claim that spin-to-win is a grave problem, emblematic of a great cheapening in modern snowboarding, it's hard to argue that Matteoli doesn't have style. I'd pay good money to see those commenters try to pull a 2160, or even a 360 for that matter. Keep pushing it, Ian. You stomped that.
