Olympic Gold Medalist Sage Kotsenburg Starts Over With Backcountry

Professional snowboarder Sage Kotsenburg is back at square one. The first-ever Olympic slopestyle gold medalist has been ripping runs at Park City, UT since the ripe age of four, and started hitting park queues at six years old. After accomplishing one of the sport’s most prestigious honors, Kotsenburg decided that the next best place for his growth as a rider is one where the unexpected becomes routine. Rather than hitting formulaic rail lines, he began to study the backcountry.
