Julia Marino Makes X Games History and Beats Jamie Anderson
Julia Marino—nineteen-year-old X Games rookie—carved out snowboard history at Saturday's slopestyle competition. She lit the first-ever women’s cab double underflip, ultimately stole the gold medal, and beat long-standing idol Jamie Anderson.
—And she earned the podium after a major setback in her first run. Off the bat, she accidentally reverted to a switch landing after a rail hit, which threw a wrench into her flow. She ended in last place with a 19.33 score.
Apparently, the hanger turned up a fired focus. In run two, she stomped a technical rail link-up and graceful transition into her super confident big air segment. The 94.66-point run rocketed her to first place.

Not to mention, three days earlier, Marino also earned bronze in the first-ever X Games big air competition.
