Dan Brisse Continues to Raise the Bar in Snowboarding

Dan Brisse continues to raise the bar in snowboarding—in every realm from stunning big mountain booters to creative never-seen urban lines. Be it jumps or jibs, his style is so smooth that even the unplanned slammers somehow look relaxed and orchestrated. Lucky for us, he put out a re-edit compilation of his best dunks from 2016 and into the new year.

Scenes are sliced from Union Binding’s STRONGER—named 2016 Video of the Year by TransWorld Snowboarding Riders’ Poll awards—and include footage from SLC and Quebec. Brisse’s big backside 450 to boardslide the down rail; that wall ride to backflip (over a railing to a sizeable drop); and his boardslide down two gapped rails back-to-back—with that hop up—are just a few of our favorite takes.

If the tricks aren’t enough to keep you captivated (which, would be impossible, really) this personalized re-edit captures an underlying layer of sentiment with Harry Chapin’s song “Cat’s in the Cradle,” which Brisse chose to reflect his evolution as professional snowboarder and father who is trying to keep the two pieces of his life in balance.
