14 Years After his Passing, Snowboarder Craig Kelly’s Spirit Lives On

Craig Kelly was one of snowboarding's earliest and most formative riders. Called the most influential snowboarder of all time, Kelly was an explorer and mountaineer who rode with perfect execution, innate style, and contagious passion.

As the sport continues to cut into new terrain with boundary-pushing athletes, fresh technology, and edgy product design, snowboarding's history becomes deeper and even more key for the current and next generation of riders.

“Chasing the Spirit of Craig Kelly” captures an intimate glimpse into Kelly’s legacy (1966-2003) through the words of John “JG” Gerndt, Travis Rice, Dave Downing, Jeff Pensiero and Mark Landvic. Kelly passed away in an avalanche near Revelstoke, Canada, in 2003. Fourteen years later, his spirit still lives on in the snowboard community.
