This All-Female Ski/Sailing Trip To Greenland Was Forced To Reckon With COVID-19

Sometimes you just have to go with the flow. When an all-female ski expedition that included TGR Tested rider Ilka Hadlock and some of the strongest and most badass ladies in skiing (Mary Mcintyre, Corinne Prevot, Keree Smith, Leona Charpentier, Julia Olsen, and Camilla Edwards) set sail from Iceland to Greenland this March, they had no idea what would be in store for them. On an expedition like this, pretty much anything could go wrong, but what eventually derailed their effort was something they never expected. A few days after casting off, they received word on the radio that COVID-19 had essentially shut down the world and Greenland would not let them enter. The team was forced to abandon their hopes of skiing massive couloirs all the way to the sea and instead do the responsible thing and return to home.

Their short film Changing Course, created by none other than Anne Cleary and Florence Gross tells the story of an adventure gone different. What’s that saying? When live gives you lemons, make lemonade and sit back to enjoy the view from the bow of your sailboat?
