Meet the Wild Women of the Wasatch Who Do Adaptive Skiing!

It seems that for most skiers the freedom skiing provides and the stress relief found while skiing are something we are well aware of, and probably a large part of what drives us to the slopes in the wee hours of the morning. As unifying principles, these qualities of skiing also speak to the adaptive sports community as a unique way to allow persons with adaptive needs to participate in outdoor sports and find a new realm of freedom of movement.

In sports coverage of persons with adaptive needs the headlines often read about how inspirational those people are and how they should make us reflect on our own lives. I would like to encourage you to watch this video and focus on the experience of these adaptive skiers as their own– I'm 98% sure they're not out there skiing everyday to inspire you to get off the couch, they're doing it for the love, for the adventure, for the experience (and because they're badass ladies). They're also incredible athletes and teachers and they're making a huge contribution to the Wasatch's community and its people with adaptive needs. Way to go Wild Women of the Wasatch, Anna Beninati, we hope to see you at the 2018 games in Korea!
