There was absolutely no shortage of action at the Kicking Horse Golden BC pro. The run down T1's South Face may have been shorter in length than in previous years, but it makes up for it with steep, feature heavy terrain full of airtime opportunities. Riders were going gnarly with their trick selection, hucking double corks, huge threes, and last-minute backies off the biggest features this run had to offer all with hopes of landing atop the podium.
As it happens, none other than the Canadian youngster, Marcus Grogen took it the biggest. His run, chalked full of rotations and fat airs, landed him third in the Ski Men’s division, earning him rider of the day for the whole event. Keep an eye out for this kid as he bites at the heels of the top five.
We saw competition really began to pick up the pace in Kicking Horse. The healthy dose of massive sends from top riders pushed the rest of the field to follow suit and go as big as they could fathom which produced a hearty serving of gnarly wipeouts as well as impressive stomps. All in all, this stop on the tour was a whirlwind that left us frothing for the Georgia Pro in March.
