It's finally that time of the year here in Jackson Hole. The heartbeat of the valley, the Jackson Hole Tram – "Big Red" – one of the most iconic ski lifts in the world, opened today. Mike Vase, one of the head maintenance workers on the big red beast takes us through what goes into running the Tram.
Big Red, is the second tram of its kinda at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. In 2006, the original tram was retired after forty years of service the iconic lift was given a facelift. Jackson Hole's current tram holds up to 100 people and takes just over nine minutes to get the the summit, giving you access to 4,139 vertical feet of skiable terrain.
